We are two journalists traveling to Romania for two weeks this March June to report on the status of the orphanages 20 years after the fall of communist dictator Nicolae Ceauşescu. Sommer, a recent graduate of Southern Methodist University, uses the written word to bring the world to life, while Lindsey, an SMU senior, captures the essence of a person’s soul in a single frame.
The picture above is the two of us (Lindsey on the left, Sommer on the right) during our day trip to Stonehenge and Bath. It was freezing, windy and raining, and our jeans clung to our skin because they were soaked. But it was one of the best days we’ve ever had.
Lindsey,
I received your email and have looked around your site. First, let me say congratulations! What a great opportunity, and one near and dear to my heart. I adopted both of my sons and know the need in Romania for the many orphans in that country. The site looks great and I look forward to the updates through your journey.
I’ll pass the site along to a few other photographer as well so all can enjoy what I’m sure will be compelling stories and photos from both you and Sommer.
Thanks for keeping me updated.
Godspeed!
David
Thanks, David. We definitely think there are stories worth telling and we’re excited to share them with everyone.
